It is, quite simply, mindblowingly amazing. So many bands try to deliver trance-like experiences within a black metal framework but óreida actually succeeds. And how. There should be a picture of this album next to the word 'immersive' in the illustrated dictionary.

HOLLOW WOODS stand mainly for rough black metal, presenting darkness and rage. Without keyboards or other softeners they deliver a classic underground black metal album in terms of atmosphere. There is a melodic undertone as well and sometimes the songs are even majestic because of slow pace or clean, Primordial-like screams ("A frozen glance"). The vocals often come close to death metal depths and the roughness reminds me at Deströyer 666 or similar black thrash bands.
